I'm sure at one point or another, we've all felt the power of our own breath - the way it slows us down, excites us, scares us, moves us, etc. This class introduces the power of your breath while boxing, and how meditative the sport is. I've always thought of boxing as 'the greatest release while maintaining full control' - this class explores that practice as we move with intention and awareness.
We'll start the class with a meditation focusing on our breath and how it shows up for us prior to class. We'll warm up, go through a series of exercises priming our bodies for boxing specific movements (using resistance bands and our body weight), and get right into our boxing technique and pad-work. We'll end with a cool-down and meditation, reflecting on how our breath has shifted during this time. This class takes a different spin on mindfulness by introducing it to a fast-paced sport - creating the perfect storm. You'll leave with a reminder that no matter how fast we go, we can always ensure that we move with intention.
